  • Anglais The ace of spades in disarray

    Emmanuel Zoungrana

    • Edilivre
    • 25 November 2014

In Ivene, a country in Black Africa, the society was haunted by its own mores. Those who wanted to uphold the cruel rituals outrightly rejected the proponents of change. Plunged in its tragedy, adventures, drama and disarray, the Nation, upset and undecided, faced its social disintegration.
For a long time, this society sought, perhaps way behond what was necessary, the required scheme of evolution. In this social backdrop, appeared Azi Josué Marien, a man with accurate sense of smell, whose behaviour and achievement dazzled everyone in the city.
Spectacular as this city boy may be, the man perhaps didn't realise it, and the humanitarian role he played should have driven the country through success. Indeed, the moment when the Ivene society could read his mind, too late perhaps, things and people around the Ace of Spades had already turned the other way. It is in this context that the escalation went beyond control.

« Cock was crowing. Sun was still in its nest. Moon was slowly going to bed. Darkness was kingly acting. Some people had already awoken. That was the time for Balna and his aunt to get up, make fire and fetch water. She had spent all her time putting him far from the household works, but in vain. He was bent on helping her. After those usual activities, he used to get ready to go to school. Very courageous at home in spite of their living conditions, Balna was also a good student. »

Mister Pip was a happy man until the day his wife was swept away by a sudden illness. Since that day he felt so alone that he decided to find a partner in order to spend a week's holiday in someone else's company. He put his photograph on the Internet accompanied by a short advert: 'man around fifty seeks woman around the same age to share common life.' He rented a small apartment near the sea which was perfect for a great love story. The big day arrived. The date was made to meet on a bench facing the Mediterranean Sea.

  • Peace for Africa ; paix pour l'Afrique

    Simon Nsielanga

    • Edilivre
    • 12 February 2014

That evening Paul returns home tired from a long day's work at the office, someone knocks on his door, he opens it, and stands face to face with his next door neighbour, a beautiful smiling young woman who can not open a bottle that he opens with a quick gesture. His neighbour thanked him kindly before returning to her apartment.
Time passes by and he cannot stop thinking about this gorgeous blonde of whom he wants to get to know better but he still does not come across his neighbour on the stairs or in the elevator. His nights are disturbed by the memory of this charming neighbour and he keeps fantasizing about her. But how is he going to manage to meet her again? He is very busy with his work, and especially, slightly too shy?

  • In this thesis I propose various activity-driven synaptic plasticity mechanisms that could account for the speed, selectivity and invariance of the neuronal responses in the visual cortex. Their biological plausibility is discussed. I also present the results of a relevant psychophysical experiment demonstrating that familiarity can accelerate visual processing. Beyond these results on the visual system, the studies presented here also credit the hypothesis that the brain uses the spike times to encode, decode, and process information - a theory referred to as 'temporal coding'. In such a framework the Spike Timing Dependent Plasticity may play a key role, by detecting repeating spike patterns and by generating faster and faster responses to those patterns.

"N C S B" is the second edition of my professional diary. It is based on the gains of my internship in an American classroom. A six month stay made possible thanks to a Fulbright grant in 2007. The issues tackled were my flag ship since 1990, as a researcher at the Faculté des Sciences de l'Education in Rabat. Its purpose is to look for ways to create a brain friendly atmosphere to meet students' expectations and to stop their misbehaviour.
Each chapter is a summary of a workshop I had attended in Missouri. It usually bears the name of the report I had to hand in to My mentor, Dr. Scwick.

  • As the most important actors in democracy, the people are not only some electors who delegate all their powers and confidence to the classic branches of government. They participate actively in the life of the society by inciting the removal of bad and unfair statutes enacted by Parliament and applicable to them, statutes that often infringe their rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. They do so specifically by using their right in judicial review of statutes before the competent judges. The current work of research consists of comparing the judicial review initiated by the people in France and in Canada.

Everyone constitutes a sacred piece of history. The President Barack Obama is an example. He could be excellent, but the bad faith of Republican leaders did not permit that. Nevertheless, much has been done with great strategy and synergy.
As the first African American president in the White House, President Barack Obama has been the pride of many Americans, particularly those within the black community. In general, President Barack Obama has been an exemplary man and a state leader that America and the world will never forget.
